KNCT

There's an easy listening station out of Killeen I've been listening to a lot lately. Mostly elevator music and bands like America. Some days I'll get lucky and hear an America song followed immediately by the elevator music version of the same song. On some days they'll play three version of the same song in row. Meta-elevator music. Metamuzak.
On one particular day I was lying in the hammock with N during a long set of Perry Como instrumentals when the theme to Twin Peaks came on. It took a moment to realize what was happening. The sun shining through the live oak was casting blurry shadows of soon falling leaves. The dog slept in the green grass. All outside noise stopped. I held N close. We knew this was just a dream.
