bridgecity's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You Suck I was drinking coffee outside a coffee shop near my house. Two men were sitting at a table across from me having a conversation that sounded like a job interview. One of the men wanted to join the other man�s church and perhaps work at the church. The words �congregation� and �outreach� and �calling� and �blessings� and �ministry� and �The Spirit� peppered every sentence between them. �Bang a Gong� started playing over the sound system, then �Satisfaction�. It was the middle of the day. The weather was nice and I was having a nice time. The men got up to part ways and continued to talk as they walked. A group of very young girls, six, maybe seven years old were gathered on the other side of a fence in a playground across the street from the coffee shop where a large Catholic school had just let out. The men were parked on the street by the fence. I heard one of the girls yell, �You suck!� at the men. They ignored the girl and she yelled again �Hey you, you suck!� The men looked at each other and one of them said, �Are you saying that to us?� �Yeah, you suck!� she continued to yell. The other girls were laughing. They approached the fence, �Why are you saying that?� one of the men asked. �Because you suck.� The girl said frankly. �What grade are you in?� �First grade.� �Does your teacher let you talk like that?� �No.� �You shouldn�t say that to anyone.� �Ok.� One of the girls in the group took it upon her self to tattle on the other girl and running back across the playground she said the teacher told her to apologize. The girl said she was sorry and the men began to leave. As they pulled away the girl yelled out a final and bellowing �You Suuuuuuuck!� to the men.
