Om vibratory tension

I reluctantly paid $17 to see Om and Mudhoney last night. This time around, Om was really on. vocals were loud and clear, bass tones good. The crowd was much smaller than when they opened for Pinback, which was a good thing because I got up front. Nobody gave me shit about smoking out either. At one point during their last song, "At Giza" a stage manager came out on stage and began yelling for them to stop. they look confused and perplexed by this request, as if there was no way they could stop at that point even if they wanted to. The stage manager continued to make the cut-throat gesture to stop and the crowd noticed and began going crazy booing and screaming at this guy who was trying to stop the show. the entire crowd gave him the finger and yelled at him to fuck off until he left the stage then we all cheered like crazy about our success. It made the show almost unendurably tense for the last 6 or 7 minutes. The stage manager would periodically come back on stage and scowl and mess around with wires. they finally finished and the tension subsided.
Mudhoney took the stage and they couldnt hold a candle to what just happend with Om. Nobody was into it and we reluctantly stayed thru their encores. Mudhoney should have opened for Om. There, I said it.
